Product Details

A rare variety of Alocasia with arrow-shaped leaves and distinctive jet-black zebra stems.

Commonly known as Elephant Ears or Taro, Alocasia are native to the tropical rainforests of Asia and Eastern Australia.

Alocasias prefer bright indirect sunlight, in winter in the UK they need to be by the window, to get a maximum of light.

The root system of Alocasia consists of tuberous rhizomes, which store a huge amount excess water and nutrients. For this reason, Alocasia are more prone to overwatering in the UK and the soil should be carefully checked between waterings. They should also be kept at temperatures above 16°C, away from cold drafts.

Pot size: 27cm
